27, 1996- Stacy and I drove off into the mountatins of North Carolina to
the lake where Dirty Dancing was
filmed, in order to reenact our favorite scene:
The BIG MOMENT: Baby meets Johnny for the first time... Johnny: (snarling) "What's SHE doing here?" Baby: "I carried a watermelon." (under breath) "I carried a watermelon?" Haven't we all had moments like that? My best Insert-Foot-in-Mouth Moment was a comment I made to Tim* the Drum Major-Deli worker. My ex-friend totally had the hots for him, so we scaped together some change and made a visit to the local Mars Grocery store to purchase 5 slices of cheddar from him. Being poor high school freshman, that's all the cheese we could afford. After he handed us our big purchase I said, "You cut the cheese very well."
