Use Multiple “Touches” to Get to Know Your Contacts—Online & In-Person

It takes more attempts than most people think to get through to top prospects. It can often take seven, eight, nine, or more touches to get through to someone.

Quality relationships take time to build and maintain, but social media makes this process easier! If your objection to using social media is “I don’t have time”… STOP and answer this: “How are you going to find time in your business schedule to give multiple touches to close sales only using traditional methods?”

Here are some quick tips on how you can speed up the connection process:

  • —Add your social networking profiles to all of your traditional marketing materials
  • Ask a contact if you can connect on LinkedIn or Facebook after a great conversation
  • —Get to know prospects online, but give your in-person time to your highest priority contacts
  • —Get to know people by having conversations (online, in-person, by phone or email)
  • Share content online that follows up on what you are talking about offline
  • —Enhance your follow up process by sharing a link to a blog post or eBook
  • Check in regularly with your best contacts—comment on their status updates
  • Share posts and events from your contacts to your social networks

Using a combination of in-person and online contact will enhance the engagement process. This leads to more referrals, better quality clients and increased revenue—with less effort!
