Want an easy way to keep your social media feeds filled? Use Buffer!
Schedule posts as you read articles, or set aside time to do updates for the week from your browser or your mobile device.
One of the biggest hurdles to posting regularly on social networks is being online to post during the peak times your target audience is online. Fortunately – you don’t have to be! There are several tools available that will allow you to work when it’s convenient for you, then the posts will go live online at the times you select.
My favorite one to use is Buffer (www.buffer.com) because it works on the major social networks – Facebook profiles, Facebook Pages, Twitter and LinkedIn. You can install it to your browsers and your mobile devices so you can share as your browse. Or you can use BufferApp.com to do your updates.
Just like that – you can get your brand posting content on 4 of the most used social networks. NO MORE EXCUSES! 🙂
This takes care of the BIGGEST issue: posting regularly during peak times. You’ll still need to go to each social network to:
- Reply to comments
- Share other people’s content (but you can add it to Buffer!)
- Interact with other people’s posts

Get started with the tips below.
Get started posting links
You can also share a variety of content. The easiest way to get started is by sharing links to news articles and blog posts. The application will select a thumbnail image. Advanced settings will set you shorten the link (this saves on characters on Twitter and allows you to track your links).
Upload a photos or graphics
In my previous blog post, I recommended sharing graphics because visual content is the best way to grab your audience’s attention. Upload your images directly to Buffer. Add your link and schedule.
Set your schedule
For each social network, you can set a schedule of when you want your updates to go out. I suggest that you stagger these to be different times on different networks. Selecting BUFFER will put the post in the next available time slot.
Mix up your posts
You can also shuffle your posts (manually or with a button) to mix you your updates so you aren’t post the exact same time on every network. If you fill up your Buffer for a week or more, you can get a really nice mix of updates.
Look at your analytics
Measuring what you are doing is a key to success! Check in an look at your analytics frequently and adjust so you get the times that have the most interaction. You’ll also start to see what types of content is the best for you to share.
Add team members
If you need help with your social media updates, add additional team members to help you schedule! Invite your virtual assistant to help manage your Buffer and keep it “topped off”.
